At SHG Therapy, we believe that healing happens when the whole person is seen—mind, body, and lived experience. Our practice is grounded in a holistic, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive approach to mental health care. We work with individuals, couples, and groups, offering personalized support through a wide range of therapeutic services designed to meet each client’s unique needs.
Our team brings together diverse backgrounds and expertise, with deep respect for the complexities of identity, culture, and personal history. We integrate evidence-based therapies with expressive arts, mind-body practices, and psychological research, creating an environment where clients can explore, grow, and heal.
From talk therapy and trauma recovery to yoga therapy and creative expression, our work centers on helping clients reconnect with themselves and move forward with clarity, resilience, and purpose.

Frequently Asked Questions
A Holistic & Integrative Approach to Mental Well-Being
What is psychotherapy, and what can I expect from it?
Psychotherapy is a unique and dynamic process tailored to your individual needs. It involves exploring thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in a structured environment to promote self-awareness and positive change. Unlike routine medical visits, therapy requires active participation from you both in sessions and in applying insights to your daily life. While therapy can bring about significant benefits, such as improved relationships and reduced distress, it can also be challenging as it may evoke difficult emotions.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes, sessions can be conducted via Google Meet. In-person sessions are available for Dutch residents.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy is a space for self-exploration, healing, and growth. If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or longing for deeper understanding and change, therapy can offer support. It’s not just for times of crisis; it can prevent crises. Therapy can also help you build resilience, strengthen relationships, and reconnect with yourself. If you're unsure, our initial consultation can help you explore whether this journey feels right for you.
Do I need a referral to see you?
No, anyone can book a free consultation with me!
What happens during the first session?
Our work begins with a complimentary 15-30 minute online consultation (via GoogleMeet). This allows us to introduce ourselves and assess whether my therapeutic approach aligns with your needs. If we decide to proceed, the first two sessions will involve a comprehensive assessment of your personal history and the issues you wish to address.
What should I bring to my first session?
Bring yourself with an open mind, any relevant medical or psychological history, any questions or concerns you may have, and your reasons for seeking therapy. It’s also helpful to discuss your preferences for session frequency or scheduling.
Do you accept insurance?
Unfortunately, I am currently not taking Dutch insurance. However, you may be able to obtain reimbursement from your international insurance provider.
What happens if I miss a session?
A missed session may result in a charge if not cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice, except in the case of an emergency (e.g., medical emergency, accident, family emergency, etc).
What should I do in case of a crisis?
If you are in crisis and I am unavailable, please take the following actions:
Contact the Crisis Hotline at 0900-113 (available from any Dutch phone). They also provide online chat support at https://www.113.nl/english.
If you believe you are unable to keep yourself safe, immediately dial 112 or visit the nearest hospital emergency room.
How long do therapy sessions last, and how often do we meet?
Therapy sessions typically last 50-60 minutes. Depending on your needs, we can meet:
Twice a week
Once a week
Once every two weeks
Can I contact you between sessions?
Yes, you can always contact me via email.
What are your fees?
The standard session fee is €95 per hour. However, I reserve limited spots for a sliding scale fee structure. We will discuss your financial situation during our initial consultation to determine a fee that is fair and sustainable.
How do I pay for my sessions?
Payments can be made via bank transfer, either after each session or monthly.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to reschedule or cancel your session, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of our work. However, there are legal and ethical exceptions:
If I suspect abuse of a child, elderly person, or disabled person, I am required to report it to the authorities.
If you pose a serious threat to yourself or someone else, I may need to take protective actions, such as notifying relevant parties or seeking hospitalization.
In some cases, I may consult with other professionals while maintaining your confidentiality.
